We're Moving!!

So Cathy and her cats are finally moving into a new home! Oh, and the rest of the family as well. It has been quite the adventure getting in, but we are so happy. The last few days were nuts with birthday parties, October gatherings, and now all the moving stuff. Tonight we took the kitties over for a trial run. We thought it would be good for the boys to have a chance to check out the place before we actually moved in. So we trecked over with some dinner for the people and the kitties, their litter box, and a couple boxes and speant the evening hanging at the new house. Stilts speant a few minutes wandering the first room we got to, then parked in a corner of the kitchen and refused to move. Felix got a far as the litter box, and that was it.
Eventually we pulled him out of litter box, because Stilts had to, well, use it. Felix curled up in the corner of the living room, at first against me. when I left the room he meowed sounding totally panicked, but refusing to move. It was really sad. Virginia curled up with him and he calmed down, but he wasn't himself until we got back to our apartment. Crazy kitty.
Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Someday My Prince Will Come

As a little girl, I loved the idea behind fairy princess, and princes, wizards and warriors, and devoured every fairy tale I could get my hands on. So when I discovered this paper I bought it immediatly without knowing what I was going to do with it. The opportunity finally came up when my niece Alex turned 5.

Materials:Paper is my prince from the fairy tale series by recollections, ally's wonderland by sei, letters are cut out by my handy dandy Cricut. (Provocraft)

I love doing kids cards, they are so much fun, and this one really took me back to my own childhood. So much fun! And now for a section I haven't done for a while...

Butterfly Friends

Good morning all! I hope you guys are having a happy Wednesday! This card is 365 Cards Challenge number 96.

This challenge starts with an ad from which you take your inspiration. This was the ad. Now I want a coke too. :-) I loved the butterflies. Here is my result!

Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Baby Cards

Hi all!! Sorry for the break, but I have been having technical difficulties. :-) Even now I'm posting from my phone, and I probably will be for a while, so if you all can bear with me while I muddle through this I would greatly appreciate it. Yesterday and today I finally got back to my cards, and had a marathon card making session. It felt so nice. I seriously sat down with 6 hours of Star Trek and went nuts. Dishes weren't touched, and neither was the laundry, dusting, filing or any other chore I had planned, but boy am I happy. And I had time to paint my nails with my daughter! It'll be a while before photos and everything are ready though, so today I thought I would give you all a sneak peak at what will soon be listed on etsy. These two were inspired by the RIDICULOUS amount of friends who announced pregnancies these last two months. I think I'm up to 6 pregos, two of whom are having twins. Its going to be baby shower paradise. Always good times. :-)

Have a great day, and keep crafting!

I do believe in Fairies, I do I do!

I recently discovered the Treasury section of etsy, where one can create collections of items on etsy, and have completely fallen in love with it. So I decided to try to make one a day. I realized as I planned out my future treasuries though, that my tastes are very similar, and I wanted more variety in the kind of treasuries I make. This is where my amazing mom stepped in, and offered to help out. So we have started each creating treasuries to share from my shop. Today's is one of hers, and I really love it. :) Check it out!! Do you believe in Fairies? I really love this one, expecially the book whose spine takes the shape of a face of a forest creature. So cool. Thanks mom!! Have a great day, and keep crafting!!

Flowers and Buttons

I am getting back to my challenges!! Very excited, though I know I may have a few gaps here coming up. My husband and I are both on the job search, plus getting ready for a family vacation, so life is busy!!
The challenge for today is Number 119 - Feeling Punchy. The challenge was to use a die cute and decorate it using jewels, buttons etc. I chose this cute flower I made on my Cricut.
Then I set about finding the right button for the center.
I finally decided on this yellow button.
I put it with some paper I found by sei from a series called ally's wonderland called morning glory. I finished it off with a stamp by stampendous and heres what I got!

My First Treasury!!

Today I made my first treasury on etsy!! Turns out it's super fun to do, and I plan on doing many of these in the near future. I realized after the my first one really should have been cats, but I had Dr. Who on the brain, so that's what came out. :) Check out the treasury here!

Baby Elephants

Still fixing up the craft area, it's getting close to finished, but since we're working on the rest of the house too, it's slow moving. School is coming to an end, and summer is quickly approaching, which for me means lots of free time, and lots of crafts with the little one. I can't wait to start posting those too!! Today's 365 challenge was to make a card that is asymmetrical. Inspired by a ADORABLE baby I saw at Virginia's gymnastics practice. With babies on the brain, I came up with this. The paper is by Renae's House, the sticker by DCWV and the blank card it's all on is by Recollections. I had a blast, as always, these challenges are so much fun. I haven't had many kitty pictures lately. We got a cat door for the balcony, and they have been spending most of their time laying in the sun watching the birds. hopefully I'll have more pictures soon! Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Birdie goes Tweet Tweet Tweet

These last few days have been fantastic! Tony and I started re-arranging our home, and I now have a permenent space for my crafting! I actually have a desk, where I can leave projects for a period more time. I have a lot of organising to do, so my posts might continue to be a bit sparadic while I get settled. This challenge is a catch up from day 35 - Up in the air. I had fun continueing to play with the digital stamps from Heart Song. I also liked making the cloud, with the polka dot paper. I went back to a style of card that I haven't done for a whle. Not my best, but lots of fun!! That's it for today. Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Birthday Card

The challenge for Day 71 was a blast!! Here is the sketch.

The card was inspired by the person I made it for (can't say who until after her birthday) who loves green. I went through all the old paper I had, and finally came up with this paper called Celebrate "Family" plaid, by Confetti. I then pulled out my handy-dandy-Cricut and made these presents (which are adorable!! ) using the _ cartridge. The final touch is the happy birthday stamp by Stampendous, which is seriously cute.

Here is the final product!!

Have a great day and keep crafting! (Amendment: Since her birthday has now passed, I can safely say that the card is for my sister, Anna, who is a great supporter of this blog. Thanks sis, and Happy Birthday!)

Super Sketch Week!! Yay!

Today on the challenge they announced a Seven Sketches Week!! I'm so excited. Sketches are my favorite kind of challenge. Here was todays sketch.

I actually took the sketch and flipped it around. It worked better for this paper. Here it is!

The paper is by BoBunny. The Love is spelt out in scrabble tiles that I picked up at a second hand store. The ribbon was a gift from another etsy artist. The newsprint flower is by Recollections and the strips are cut out from the same dictionary that I used in the last card. Had a lot of fun doing this one.

Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Super Sketchy Sunday-Romance

Hello and happy belated Mother's Day to you all!! I hope all you moms had a great day, were really spoiled, and today are feeling refreshed an ready to go. :) May is a busy month for me. There are a couple of birthdays, and anniversaries, not to mention the boat-load of Mother's Day cards, so you'll get lots of cards in those themes as the month continues. I may not say who they're for though, as some of these recepiants read my blog, and I would hate for them to know what they are getting. (I'm talking to you sis.) Sunday's challenge was a super sketch. I was excited because I used several of my favorite mediums and tools to create this, and had a grand time doing it. So, let's start off with the picture! I used a couple different patterned papers by BoBunny. It took a couple tries to get the triangle the right size, but it worked! I used a Vellum definition by DCVW, and some old ribbon I've had lying around the house for ages. The heart is another page from my dictionary. I used the Cricut to get the shape, and then my sponge that I normally use for distressing and regular black ink to darken the heart so it stands out against pattern. Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Girls can do anything!

Todays 365 challenge was to take inspiration from Rosie, the spokeswoman and motivation for the Womens Liberation Movement.

I thought I would usse a more modern take on our beloved Rosie though. Todays women express our independence and strenth in many different ways, whether it's through tattoos (which are still thought of as a guy thing) piercings, or taking the traditional "girlie" pink, and adding skulls and black to it.

I was super excited to find this vellum quote (by DCVW), that went perfectly with my idea. :) The paper is by and the stamp is actually a halloween stamp by Indadinkado.

Today, the day before mothers day, I'd like to salute all women out there, who do any little thing to celebrate their own indapendence, and strength.

Have a great day ladies, and keep crafting.

Royal wedding

Yesterdays challenge was to make a card based off the royal wedding. Anybody else wish they were princess? I did. ;) anyway, here it is, for the couple who has no ordinary love.

The paper is by BoBunny, the key is Jim Holtz, and the vellum is by DCWV. I kept this kind of simple on purpose, inspired by the simplicity of Pippas dress. It was gorgeous enogugh to be a brides dress! Have a great day and keep crafting!

Unicorns

I've been getting a little swamped trying to catch up with all the cards I missed. I decided instead to take the route I did when I started this challenge, and post each days challenge as they come, and do the catch-up cards when I have extra time. So, on that note: here is todays challenge! Ok, well its actually yesterdays challenge, but todays wasn't posted yet when I sat to this. This challenge was to somehow use a mythical creature. I bought a dictionary recently that had been published in the 40's. I finally got to use it! I found several pages that had creatures that I thought would be cool, but when I found the unicorn one I got really excited. The picture was too perfect! The printed ribbon on the side is made by Jim Holtz and the believe quote is a sticker made by dcwv. I was very happy with this card!

(Foot note- 5/9/11) This was also Mothers Day card for my mom, who loved unicorns while we were growing up, and who fueled my belief in faieries, trollls, goblins, Santa Claus, unicorns, princesses, and happily ever after. Thanks Mom!

Birds and Flowers

Yay!! We've finished with all the older make-up cards, now on to the new ones. First up is Day 26-ABC's of Crafting: STW
S: Stiching
T: Toile
W: White
I'm afraid I couldn't find any toile, so I used some paper strips instead. I also really, really hate actually stitching paper, (the process, not the result) so I used a digital stamp from Heartsong that had stitching on it. The Polka Dot paper is from Recollections, and the stamp by Stampendous.
Next is Day 27 which is another sketch. And here is my result! The picture is a little fuzzy, but I drew in balloons instead of my normal polka dots. Going for something new. :) Stay tuned for more. Have a great day and keep crafting!

Still more catch-up

Still catching up on cards I missed before, though I'm almost done with the ones that came before I started the challenge. Then it's just to the ones that I've missed out on after getting sick. :)
This first one is from Day 11- Repurposed paper
The challenge was to take paper from one holiday and use it for something else. I took some old halloween paper, and turned it into this!
I'm very much in a spring mood lately. :)
This next one is also springy. It is for Day 12- Keep it simple.
The challenge is to use patterned paper, one sentiment, and one embellishment. I added a ribbon, it was really needed. Here is the result!

This card is actually tiny. It was fun to work with a different size for once. Both of these used flowers by Colorbok. The sticker on #2 is also by colorbok. The stamp on #1 is from Stampendous.

That's it for now. Stay tuned for more catch-up cards!

Have a great day and keep crafting!

Back to the 80's!

The challenge for Day 9 was to pick a decade and have fun!! I picked the 1980's, with this great video game card that I made for Tony for his birthday.
I found this paper (and decals) in a pad called The Generation Tech Stack by DCWV. You'll probably notice a lot of it in the 32 Geeky Gifts book I made for his birthday as well. I am so excited with the paper, and completely love this card.
Here are some more I made with the pack. This one was for Day 25. This challenge was part of the alphabet challenges, PQR.
P - Polka Dot
Q - Quilting
R - Red
I used a Pin Wheel Quilting pattern, and threw a power up decal in the center to give the whole thing a video game twist.
That's it on the video games for now.

Spring in Bloom

Last one for today. Day 8's challenge is to create an arch card. This was something I had never done before, and it took me several cards to get the shape right, but the result was perfect. The blank card (precut) was by Recollections. The paper and stickers are all by Colorbok. I love this paper, and can't wait to more with it. I'm also really feeling the purple and orange combo after I put it together for the Pick 5 challenge. Since then I also used it on the Fierce card. Fun! Have a great day, and keep crafting!

Fierce Kitty

Day 7's challenge is a crack up. It is inspired by the word "fierce". I had a great time making the card, and then I ended up with the perfect picture.

Such a blast!! Felix curled up, and posed so perfectly!!!

Have a great day and keep crafting!!
